Well, the project has come to an end.... A few minor details left to complete but here it is. Sense yesterday I have sprayed on a coat of lightly tinted shellac and 3 coats of polyurethane, of coarse sanding between each step so that the final finish is relatively smooth. I am very happy with how this cabinet turned out and during this process learned a great deal about things I can do better and things I can do differently on the next project. Most of all I learned that my router skills need some work, but luckily finishing with a dark coat like this one can cover up most, if not all, the blemishes from the under trained router skills.
